Why not start your 2019 Exclusively at the Trend Hub? The displays created incorporate exhibitor products selected in the context of three consumer and design trends for 2020 as selected by our Trend Agency Scarlet Opus. The selected design trends will guide the styling of interiors over the next 18 months.
The Trend Hub, is housed in the Atrium above Exclusively Electrical Hall.
Knowing what consumer want next, enables you to buy more of what will sell, it helps de-risk buying for retailers, informs and inspires merchandising. Trend knowledge let’s retailers be the best they can be and enjoy a more certain future.
On route to the Trend Hub and throughout your time at the show, look out for the ‘Recommended on Trend Product’ Awards around the exhibition on exhibitors stands, these have all been selected by Scarlet Opus as being “On trend”, meaning that they have the very best chance of being what consumers will want to buy.
To fully appreciate the value and use of future design trends, we would also recommend time is well spent either:
- Taking part in a Trend Tour
- Attending the Trend Talks – available on both days.
- Visiting the Scarlet Opus Trend hub – open for the duration of the show.
The Scarlet Opus Trend Talks, Displays, and Trend Tours will focus on the three Design Trends: Traveller, Fellowship and Satori, an overview of which is explained below.
Why is an understanding of trends so important?
Working with retailers & manufacturers Scarlet Opus provide in-depth information about the future wants needs & desires of consumers; how people will be living in the future and what they will want to surround themselves with. They get very specific about colour, material, pattern, texture & shape to make products desirable 2-3yrs in advance of their launch.
By identifying trends which are relevant to the housewares sector and right for every business in it, Scarlet Opus will help you create a unique and sustainable competitive advantage.
Trend Intelligence unlocks the path to your chosen future.
The Trends Explained; Traveller, Fellowship and Satori
Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 Trend – Traveller
The followers of this trend will dare to look ahead with optimism to a calmer more stable era. Establishing fairness is central to the trend’s agenda and an era of mega-transparency and clarity begins. The trend is focused on restoring balance, order and correctness. During this new season a return to ‘Fine Dining’ will begin emerge, but not with the formality of Fine Dining in the past. This time it will be with a contemporary twist, friendly, correct, informal but with all the expectations of a ‘special occasion’ requiring all of our finery for a glamourous experience.
Spring/Summer 2020 Trend – Fellowship
This trend focuses on the Power of the Collective; we rise up together as a community of collaborators in a future where we are all makers, farmers, craftsman. We have a global outlook, installing hope that it must get better for all. It’s the opposite of the establishments, with its systems, protocols, procedures and constraints. Leading to a celebration of diversity in an increasingly globalized world. The collective reaches out for a better future.
Spring/Summer 2020 Trend – Satori
Serenity, balance and preservation underpin this trend in which we all reflect on the “Art of Living”. Those unable or unwilling to keep up with technology & the pace of life, hold on to what is real rather than virtual building a stable framework of values. They develop deeper levels of consideration and compassion for themselves & the natural world. The trend calls upon materials that are honest, natural, durable, sustainable and carefully crafted with a sensitivity to their location and use.
